Ease of access and tourism
Biking centres are only one aspect of manmade trails: at the other end of the spectrum there is a need for trails closer to where people actually live, that don’t need cars to get to, and can be used by the local community rather than just to attract visitors. Whether these are old trails given some TLC and correctly signposted, or new links to allow better access to the outdoors, these are still trails that can be better designed to be safe, fun and sustainable.
Access for all abilities of rider
Even the building of the trails can provide social inclusion and training or simply making getting fit easier and more fun. It may also be a requirement to consider a Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) specification sometimes. It may mean wider trails, but that doesn’t mean boring - Funparks benefit from being a bit wider and it opens up access to all users.
